14 | The Star of the Mall

The moment Ather and Asra stepped into the grand atrium of the luxury mall, heads started turning.

At first, it was just a few whispers. Then more people noticed the tall, dangerously handsome man in the perfectly tailored black suit walking with a small, beautiful girl on his arm. Within minutes, recognition spread like wildfire.

“That’s Ather Chakrabortyy…”

“The CEO of Chakrabortyy Group…”

“Oh my god, the trillionaire!”

Soon, a small crowd began forming around them. People — mostly young professionals, businessmen, and some excited students — pulled out their phones and approached hesitantly.

“Sir… Sir, may I have an autograph please?”

“Mr. Chakrabortyy, I’m a huge fan of your business strategies!”

“One picture, sir? Please!”

Asra’s eyes widened in surprise. She clutched Ather’s arm tighter, half-hiding behind his tall frame as the crowd grew. Her jhumkas jingled softly as she looked up at him with big, amazed eyes.

Ather’s expression remained cold and arrogant, but he didn’t refuse. He was used to this. With one hand possessively around Asra’s waist, he used the other to sign a few notebooks, phone cases, and even a few business cards that were offered to him.

Asra watched everything with childlike wonder, her mouth slightly open.

“Sir… you’re so famous!” she whispered excitedly, almost forgetting her fear for a moment. “Everyone wants your autograph!”

Ather glanced down at her, his lips twitching slightly. He signed one last autograph on a young girl’s diary before handing it back.

A bolder fan stepped forward. “Sir, is she your… girlfriend?”

Ather’s eyes turned ice-cold in an instant. He pulled Asra closer against his side, his large hand resting possessively on her hip.

“She is my wife,” he stated flatly, voice carrying clear authority. The word sent a ripple through the crowd.

Asra blushed furiously, her cheeks turning the same shade as her pink kurti. She buried her face in Ather’s arm, feeling shy and overwhelmed by all the attention.

People continued asking for autographs, but Ather only gave a few more before raising his hand.

“That’s enough,” he said in a commanding tone that instantly silenced the crowd. “Enjoy your day.”

He guided Asra away from the gathering people, his arm never leaving her waist. As they walked toward the high-end stores, Asra looked up at him with sparkling eyes, still amazed.

“Sir… you gave so many autographs! You’re like a real star,” she said innocently, swinging their joined hands a little. “Everyone respects you so much.”

Ather looked down at her, his gaze dark and intense.

“They respect me because they fear me,” he replied quietly. “And they should fear what I’ll do if anyone looks at you too long.”

Asra’s jhumkas swayed as she tilted her head, a small pout forming on her lips.

“But… you’re still bad,” she whispered, though there was no real anger in her voice anymore.

Ather smirked and leaned down to kiss the top of her head.

“Come on, meri bacchi. Let’s shop. You wanted clothes, right?”

Asra nodded happily and walked beside him, feeling both nervous and strangely protected in the middle of the bustling mall.
